Another One Of Those "Lists"

People love to make lists....I love to make lists!  Grocery lists, packing lists, to do lists, bucket lists....the list is endless!  I've come across many  lists such as "110 Things I Wil Teach My Daughter", "Tips I'll Tell My Sister", "Top 10 Parenting Lessons I've Learned".... and so forth.  So here is my latest list ... can not take credit for 90% of things here - but there are so many great ideas that I know if I don't write it down I'll forget.

20 Things To Teach My Daughters

1. Never skip breakfast if you can help it
2. Know your limits & exceed them - except when drinking.
3. Your problems may seem overwhelming right now but you will get through them - I'll make sure of that
4. Drink water - lots of it
5. Learn to say "No"
6. Learn to love walking - in the city, on the beach, in the woods, sunny days, snowy days, rainy days, all the time
7. No one has to earn your respect, everyone deserves it, regardless of who they are
8. Get a proper fitting bra
9. Read.  A lot.  Even the books you don't think you'll understand because someday you will.
10. There is a lot of bad in this world, but there is more good.   Expect the good but prepare for the bad.
11. Don't be afraid to ask for my help
12. Learn to enjoy your own company
13. Start saving money as early as possible - your older self will thank you immensely
14. Turn off that cellphone, iPad, laptop and go outside
15. Be gentle with other people's feeling - everyone is fighting their own battle that you don't necessarily know about.
16. Say what you mean and mean what you say
17. Apologize - say sorry when you are & mean it
18. Forgive yourself - don't beat yourself up on the mistakes you make
19. Don't be "nice" - be kind & compassionate
20. Practice gratitude - be thankful for the big & little things

Inside Out

On Sunday the 5th my family and I went to go watch Inside Out. The movie was about a eleven year old girl named Riley who just moved houses. Inside her head were a bunch of little emotions that were: Anger, Joy, Sadness, Fear and Disgust and every day she gets memories that get stored but there are special memories that are core memories. The core memories are memories that represent little islands in her mind. When Riley moved she felt sad because she misses her old area but things got worse when all their furniture went somewhere else and her parents started to fight. Inside Riley's head things also got worse the core memories got sucked into the tube where all her regular memories go along with Joy and Sadness. They have to get back to head quarters which is Riley's head and meanwhile Disgust, Anger and Fear are trying to make Riley want to go back to her old house. When the three emotions in Riley's head are making Riley go home all her islands are getting damaged and with only one island left  that is Joy and Sadnesses only way back to head quarters. After all her islands are gone Joy photo copys a bunch of Riley's imaginary boyfriends to stack on top of each other so they could swing Joy and Sadness all the way back to head quarters. Later when they're back in head quarters Joy and Sadness fix up Riley and she safely returns home. I would recommend this movie to people because it tells you what is really going on in your mind.

Helping is HARD

Yesterday M2 and I started helping at our dance studio with the 3 to 5 year-olds. It was very exhausting and they were also very noisy.

At first I thought it would be easy since I have a 4 year old sister. But if you times that by 10, that's crazy! Some kids were running around, other giving piggy backs - again they are 3,4 and 5 so i don't know how they managed to get a kid on their back? - Anyways above all the screaming, excitement and "Go sit in the corners!" my first day was alright. And at the end of the day I just prayed that Tuesday wouldn't be any worse.

But it was. Until now I hadn't realized how much work child care would be! There was one girl who wouldn't dance unless her mom was there. Another who was trying to escape to the bathrooms - I don't know who in their right mind would want to escape to the bathrooms!- and 2 sisters rolling around on the floor together! Oh, and I was on bathroom duty which was awesome!NOT! We also did arts and crafts which was my only break time cause the kids are very independent during that time. Even during snack time I'm busy doing something! Either taking some kid to the washroom or opening their snacks.

Although I am complaining - I do that a lot - there is some fun in taking care of them. They always say the weirdest things at the weirdest times. One of them said, " Can I watch Bubble Guppies?" in the middle of attendance!

You know, after writing this blog I've realized that i probably wont be any kind of teacher!

Sunday School

I like playing with the playdoh at Sunday school.  I like playing Lego.  That was my first time playing Lego at Sunday school.  My yee-yee's name is Ivy at Sunday school.  I met one new friend at Sunday school.  I like reading at Sunday school.  I like when the teacher puts the puppet on and hugs me.  She does that to every kid.  I liked bringing my water bottle.  I go to the gym and sing O Canada.  There was a new teacher in the gym.  The first time I did gym it was my friend's dad.  It was beautiful in the gym.

My Playdate

On Friday the 3rd I went to my friends house with 3 other friends. When I first got there we were playing with her dog. Then we went to her basement. She has in her basement a drum set, a jellybean machine and a shelf full of games. I got to play her drum set. Then we all went out to her backyard to eat snacks. I droped an Oreo cookie on the ground and her dog ate it and after that he kept coming to me for more food. After we ate we did face painting. I got a flower, a rainbow, glasses, a beard and fangs on my face. Later we went back to her basement and played a board game called furry animals. We didn't get to finish the game because people had to leave. This playdate was the best playdate I had.
